Learning to use your computer
We run free basic training in store. If you want to keep going after that, these are the places we recommend.
Be Connected Free
Australian Government online courses that start from the very beginning, plus free computer classes run by community organisations around the country.
Hume Libraries computer classes Free
One-to-one tech help and group classes in English, Arabic, Hindi, Punjabi and Turkish. There is a drop-in session at Broadmeadows Library, a few minutes from our shop.
Linux Mint documentation Free
The official handbook for the operating system on your computer. Useful once you are comfortable with the basics.
Getting online
Internet access is not something we can supply, and there is no single concession plan for it in Australia. This guide is the best neutral starting point we know of.
Choosing an internet plan (ACCAN) Free
Plain-language guide from the telecommunications consumer body on picking a plan that suits your household, and what your provider has to tell you.
Staying safe online
Both of these are Australian Government services, and both are free to use.
